EDITOR’S TAKE:
Given the number of flocks that were devastated during the height of the bird flu epidemic, it is good news to see replacement numbers rising. Demand for poultry products has continued to be strong and this increased production will be welcome news for consumers. It is also favorable for poultry producers who have been quietly working through the havoc caused by the virus that ravaged their flocks.
It appears poultry production is normalizing and that producers will be content to take a slow measured approach to rebuilding supply. That said, don’t underestimate their ability to purchase or lease one or more of those trucks on your lot.
