Watch Video as AEM VP Explains How Farmer Optimism Effects Tractor & Combine Sales

“There are definitely two different markets for ag tractors and combines,” explains Curt Blades, Senior VP of Ag Services for the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). “Everyone knows about the supply-chain issues that are hitting the entire industry, whether it’s buying tractors, combines, trucks or pinball machines. There is clearly some pressure in the supply chain right now. We continue to work hard with our manufacturers, and manufacturers are working closely with their suppliers and their dealers to make sure there are parts available as we get into the busy harvest season.”

Blades says AEM knows the demand for new equipment is high and the association is doing everything it can to work with its member manufacturers to get machines on dealer lots and keep order times down as much as possible.

EDITOR’S TAKE:

It is always good to get a different perspective on what’s behind the huge uptick in demand for farm machinery. We will continue to provide updates about this very important metric. Ag equipment sales is very much like the canary in a coal mine – the early indicator of change. Equipment sales have been particularly strong in both 2020 and 2021 which also carries over into demand for trucks. We encourage every CAD member to "Look Beyond Your Lot"!  Agriculture is strong and is only getting stronger (see the articles in this week's AIR).  Even if the general economy stumbles or slows, the Ag economy will still be singing along like that canary.  So find out why farmers are buying equipment by clicking the video link below!  Curt Blades from AEM will explain....
