United Soybean Board Focused on Growth, Research, and Innovation in 2027

The new CEO of the United Soybean Board says the organization is focused on creating new market opportunities for U.S. soy in 2027.

Courtney Knupp says growing domestic demand is just one way to boost farmer profitability.

“There’s a lot of versatility in this product,” she says. “That includes soy foam, biobased, and high-oleic for cooking oil. We need to capture more opportunities to impact U.S. consumers and keep that product at home at a high value to return those margins to the farm.”

She tells Brownfield Ag News continued investments in research and development are key to maintaining competitiveness.

“We have opportunities to think about how U.S. Soy’s research dollars can further alternative innovations that might help us be more efficient. We’ll continue to work in that vein on how we can best run the production side of the business.”

The organization’s $122.5 million budget focused on health and nutrition, infrastructure and connectivity, and innovation and technology was recently approved during the July board meeting in Indianapolis.

EDITOR’S TAKE:

USB is a farmer led and farmer funded organization. As such, they are very focused on how to increase productivity at the farm level. Just as importantly, they are laser focused on increasing the use and sale of soybeans and soy-based products worldwide. In conjunction with state-based soy organizations, they create a very powerful entity for U.S. soy growers!

As a CAD member you should reach out to soybean producers in your area. Engage them in a conversation to remind them that some of the components of the vehicles you sell contain soy-based ingredients. Also, some of your vehicles can utilize biodiesel containing soy.
