Nebraska Beef… It’s What’s for Inauguration Dinner

Nebraska beef was front and center at the luncheon January 20 honoring the inauguration of President Donald Trump. Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar were key to the inauguration ceremonies as ranking members of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.
Guests who gathered at the Presidential inaugural luncheon in Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol about an hour and a half after the inauguration of President Donald Trump could admire their plates and look forward to enjoying beef from Nebraska.
In her remarks before the luncheon, Senator Amy Klobuchar reported that part of the menu for the luncheon, hosted by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, included Greater Omaha Angus ribeye steak from Nebraska and an apple icebox terrine made from apples from Klobuchar’s home state.
On Greater Omaha Packing Co.’s Facebook page, it noted the origin of the entrée of the day, saying, “We are proud to share our premium Great Omaha Angus ribeye that was served as the centerpiece of today’s inaugural luncheon.”
Klobuchar and Fischer were front and center for much of the inauguration day festivities.
EDITOR’S TAKE:
That famous advertisement – “Beef, It’s What’s for Dinner” certainly applied to the recent Presidential Inaugural Luncheon. Most people attending the event would find those ribeye steaks to be a welcome treat. And rest assured they would have been top of the line cuts for that crowd. The special attention provided by such a high-profile event should aid the beef industry advertising and help sell more beef this year. Beef producers were already doing very well, but this could boost their image and income in 2025. It certainly makes sense to target those beef producers in your area. They use trucks extensively in their operation and will need to find some tax write-offs soon.
