AEM Ag Members Take Equipment to the Nations Capital
As 2024 gears up to be a critical year for the future of American agriculture, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) is preparing to showcase the Future of Food and Farming in the heart of Washington, D.C., during the 2nd Celebration of Modern Ag on the National Mall.
On May 6-8, 2024, more than 20 AEM members will be onsite in the nation’s capital between the Smithsonian Museums to illustrate the equipment manufacturing industry’s contribution to sustainably providing for a growing world.
“AEM is honored to lead our member companies and other industry partners in showcasing the sustainability of our food system on the National Mall,” said AEM Senior Vice President Curt Blades. “This is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate how technologically advanced farms and ranches are today, as well as emphasize why the needs of rural America must be at the forefront of the policies lawmakers support.”
Participating AEM members include:
- AGCO
- Arva
- Case IH
- CLAAS
- DeLaval
- GEA
- Grain Weevil
- John Deere
- Krone NA
- Kubota
- Kuhn
- Lely
- Lindsay
- Mahindra
- Monarch
- Montag
- New Holland

AEM and its members will not be alone in educating policymakers about the future of food and farming. A record number of partners in the D.C. agriculture community will also participate in the event.
EDITOR'S TAKE:
Most policymakers and elected officials in our nation’s capital have little, if any, connection to agriculture. They are typically ignorant of the amazing machines and technology that help farmers/ranchers produce food, fiber and fuel for both domestic and international consumption. Events like these typically draw a tremendous amount of interest from elected officials and their staff. This is important work and we fully support such efforts. Some familiarity of agriculture is preferred to none. Many people in today’s world have little knowledge of what is involved in producing the food they consume. That is why we also encourage you to participate in events like AgRally or sponsor your own event locally. Either way, educating our lawmakers, policymakers and general public about this amazing industry can only help with consumer acceptance and understanding!
