2021 Ag Equipment Sales Finish Strong

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) December report of U.S. Tractor and Combine Sales show all positive numbers for the year. Two-wheel drive tractor sales increased 10.2 percent versus 2020. Four-wheel drive tractors were up 18.3 percent for the year. And combine sales grew by 24.7 percent in 2021.

Comparing December of 2020 to 2021 the only categories that show a slight decrease were the smaller horsepower (under 100 hp) tractors. Over 100 hp 2WD tractors were up 29.9 percent. Four-wheel drive sales increased by 29.1 percent and combines, comparing month-to-month, were up 25.3 percent.

EDITOR’S TAKE:

We followed the numbers all during 2021 and this is simply a continuation of what we reported all year – great equipment sales month after month. Given the solid financial state of the farm economy, purchasing ag equipment makes perfect sense. It also makes sense because equipment and parts are in short supply, thus, many farmers are purchasing some back-up supplies to insure they have what they need, when they need it! Like we have suggested all along, farmers are a great prospective customer for truck purchases. They are solid financially, willing to purchase things they use on the farm/ranch that will reduce their tax burden and still benefit their operation. In addition, with AgPack you have the perfect inflation-fighting tool in your hip pocket. Look Beyond Your Lot – farmers/ranchers are a great bet to purchase a truck or two in 2022!
