NAFB Partnering with Feeding America to Help Fight Hunger in Rural Communities

The National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) is partnering with Feeding America to help fight hunger in rural communities. Linda Nageotte, President and COO of Feeding America, says there are over 47 million people in the U.S. who are experiencing food insecurity.

“People living in rural communities often have difficulties accessing groceries from stores or from food pantries due to long travel distances or fewer transit options,” she says. “That just creates real barriers and challenges for folks.”

NAFB President Jeff Nalley says the organization has a goal of raising $100,000 and 1 million meals by November 19th.

“There are hungry kids and there are hungry people,” he says. “90 percent of those food insecure kids live in rural America. This is our issue as we serve rural America.”

Donations can be made through nafbhunger.com and all proceeds will go to local food banks in the Feeding America network. For more information about this partnership, click here.
